‘We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely, clean and comfortable property, with its great garden, and just a few minutes walk down into Runswick Bay. Jane was very easy to communicate with and very helpful.’

‘The house was lovely and it was a real privilege to stay in it. Everything was pristine and love the kitchen and bathrooms, all superb quality. We had family over from NZ and one of them does real estate for a living…. she thought your kitchen was wow! My son (he’s 9) enjoyed playing in the garden and flying his kite on Runswick Bay.’

‘We had an incredible weekend at Jane’s house. The house is absolutely stunning! When we walked into the open plan kitchen/living room area we were blown away but how beautifully decorated and equipped it was. It was very cosy and warm, and had everything we needed. I got in touch with Jane to ask if she could put some decorations out for a surprise for my friend’s birthday. She was more than happy to help and made it a very special arrival. There were thoughtful welcome treats left too. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!’

‘What a beautiful home. Fantastic indoor and outdoor spaces for our family. I would highly recommend this place to any families who want both space outside with a great location and a cosy and comfortable place inside if the weather isn’t great.’

‘An immaculately presented and generously appointed homely home all to a high standard, especially the kitchen which is extremely well-equipped and very pleasant to cook in. The kids loved the trampoline and the host arranged a high chair and travel cot which lightened our travel load. In a lovely quiet spot away from the old town but just a (steep) descent down to the picturesque enclosed bay. No niggles whatsoever, all in all highly recommended.’

Crabapple Cottage

A perfect location within 30 min drive of Robin Hoods Bay/Whitby and other closer bays within walking distance. Great enclosed garden for the pooch and sundowners in the summer. The cottage itself had everything we needed and the fire was well used after a wet coastal walk!!

‘This is a lovely cottage in a great location. Our stay was very comfortable and helped by magnificent weather. The welcome, facilities (including the garden) and information from Jane all excellent. There is plenty of good walking, not just along the well-worn coastal path but also inland along the many footpaths from Hinderwell. (The Cicerone guide has good suggestions). Excellent butchers and fish and chips in the village and cafe at Runswick Bay. Walking from the door and good public transport links along the coast meant that we didn’t need to use the car during our stay. Would recommend.’

‘Lovely week spent in this cosy little cottage. Both dogs and humans had a great week walking Cleveland Way. Weather not always brilliant but the views and scenery made up for that. Great beaches and cliff top walks. Sunday lunch at the Badgers made it perfect. Thank you.’

‘Our 2nd visit. Great week. Very comfortable accommodation and a wonderful garden for our dog. Lovely days at Staithes, Sandsend, Saltburn and Whitby. We highly recommend the fish an chip shop opposite. We will recommend this place to family and friends.’

‘Another wonderful stay, such a lovely cottage – a real home from home. So enjoyed the log fires too. Our dog loved running up and down the garden. Thank you, we would definitely come again.’
