‘Jane’s cottage is utterly dreamy and Jane is a fabulous superhost. I made a mistake with dates booked and left some items behind, and she dealt with both (I’m sure quite annoying) issues fantastically. The cottage is wonderfully located between Runswick Bay and Staithes, so driveable to lots of other coastal treats. It is decorated in a laidback neutral boutique style and is cosy and comfortable. It is exceptionally well equipped, and there are a few welcome treats to greet you in the fridge. The garden is wonderful; long and lush green with field views at the end. The kids loved the trampoline and we used the gas BBQ, lovely rattan furniture and picnic bench several times. The neighbours were friendly and full of advice re beaches and shop opening hours etc. There’s a Co-op in next village and a few pubs, chippy and butchers in Hinderwell. We will be back. Thank you, again Jane. A week here was such a tonic after lockdown craziness. 10/10’
“We had a lovely week at Crabapple Cottage. It’s a cosy and comfortable house, very well kitted out with everything we needed in the kitchen, tasteful decor and lots of little touches like welcome drinks, a packet of nice biscuits, a bluetooth speaker and extra extension leads. The cottage was clean, bed was comfy, garden huge with two seating areas and a trampoline(!). 2 mins walk to a great pub with food the Badger Hounds and an easy 1 mile walk down to the gorgeous beach at Runswick. Easy drive to Sandsend/Whitby. Also easy to get the bus to Whitby or Stathes in the other direction (including evening buses). Would recommend this cottage and Hinderwell for a relaxing base to explore the area!”
‘It was a total pleasure to stay at the beautiful quaint cottage. The garden was bigger than I expected. It was sparkling clean, excellent quality bedding & furnishings. We loved the log burning stove, a real treat for us. We will return.
A perfect location within 30 min drive of Robin Hoods Bay/Whitby and other closer bays within walking distance. Great enclosed garden for the pooch and sundowners in the summer. The cottage itself had everything we needed and the fire was well used after a wet coastal walk!!
‘This is a lovely cottage in a great location. Our stay was very comfortable and helped by magnificent weather. The welcome, facilities (including the garden) and information from Jane all excellent. There is plenty of good walking, not just along the well-worn coastal path but also inland along the many footpaths from Hinderwell. (The Cicerone guide has good suggestions). Excellent butchers and fish and chips in the village and cafe at Runswick Bay. Walking from the door and good public transport links along the coast meant that we didn’t need to use the car during our stay. Would recommend.’
‘Lovely week spent in this cosy little cottage. Both dogs and humans had a great week walking Cleveland Way. Weather not always brilliant but the views and scenery made up for that. Great beaches and cliff top walks. Sunday lunch at the Badgers made it perfect. Thank you.’
‘Our 2nd visit. Great week. Very comfortable accommodation and a wonderful garden for our dog. Lovely days at Staithes, Sandsend, Saltburn and Whitby. We highly recommend the fish an chip shop opposite. We will recommend this place to family and friends.’
‘Another wonderful stay, such a lovely cottage – a real home from home. So enjoyed the log fires too. Our dog loved running up and down the garden. Thank you, we would definitely come again.’
